We've spent a lovely day with Gwenda and Nev and I'm so pleased to be able to tell you that despite everything, Gwenda is upbeat and cheerful.
She's going into Wrightington shortly to have her elbow put back in, but now needs knee revision and probably hip revision as well.
They have decided to shelve the jaw replcement for the time being as they don't think her neck is strong enough to cope with the long operation.
Bonnie (Gwenda's 9 month old German Shepherd) is an absolute delight. I hadn't realised just how much she has grown until I was standing in the hall and she put one paw on each shoulder and we were nose to nose!! She is just beautiful but VERY big for a puppy!! She's got a lovely temperament and is very welcoming.
Gwenda asked me to say "hi" to everyone and sends her love to all her old friends, especially the old bag in Southampton!!
Love Jeanxxxx

Oh Jean,
I am so pleased to read that you have been to see Gwenda. Bad news about her hips but good news about her elbow. She has been without it for so long. Lets hope that she has better luck this time on the infection front. Shame about her jaw though.
Bonnie has been a real blessing by the sounds of things .
I hope that you are well Jean. Only another few weeks until I am a lady of leisure when I will have time to have a long catch up.
Love to both Gwenda and you.
Eleanor x

Old bag? CHEEK!
lol
Pleased you saw the Blackpool battleaxe and her beautiful doggy.
She is a very special lady to me, it has been such a good thing about the forum to have met others with the severe RA.
I am secretly pleased that she isnt having the jaw done- it was a mean looking thing and she might rust shut!
tee hee.
Love
